Have You Cast Your Vote for This Year’s Mensa AGM?

Our Mensa Penang AGM may be over but there is another coming up soon – the Malaysian Mensa AGM.

The AGM will be held on 21st April (Saturday) at The Royal Lake Club, Taman Perdana, Kuala Lumpur at 3pm.

Mensa Penang members should have received their ballot papers and voting envelopes by now. If you have not received the ballot papers yet, please write to: admin@mensa.my as soon as you can.

If you have received your ballot papers, do cast your vote and mail this off a week before the AGM date.

You can also pass your sealed envelope to Cecilia Yew, our Mensa Penang branch chairman, to submit it on your behalf. You can SMS Cecilia at 019 471 9978.

Mensa AGM – Come Join The Fun!

Mensa Penang will be having its AGM (Annual General Meeting) on 18 March (Sunday) and we invite all Mensans to join us. It will include a buffet luncheon to be followed by a get-to-know you session before we proceed to elect our new Committee members for this year.

Time: 12pm to 4pm
Date: 18 March 2012 (Sunday)
Venue: Nutmeg Room, Berjaya Hotel, Penang

Open to all Mensa members and their families. Come join us for an afternoon of food and fun!

Photos of Mensa Puzzlers Challenge 19 Feb 2012

It was a great session at yesterday’s Mensa Puzzlers Challenge held at Caring Society Complex.

While the 70 students from various secondary schools arrived at 2pm for the challenge, volunteers were there at 10am to get the hall ready.

Many thanks to Miss Yap Soo Huey, the Science, Technology and Innovation Officer from the Chief Minister’s Office who came to give away the prizes to the 10 winning teams. Many thanks to our team of volunteers too!

We’re Playing 10 Days in Asia Game Too!

Wanna Play Forbidden Island & 10 Days in Asia?

We’re taking a break in January since it is the Chinese New Year but here’s some exciting news – we’ve just bought 2 new board games – “Forbidden Island” and “10 Days in Asia”. Both are addictive!

So come join us and explore these 2 new board game on 26 Feb (Sunday). We are making this a monthly event as we want to revive interest and excitement in playing real games with lots of socialising thrown in.

18 Dec: Sunday Games Gathering

Hi everyone,

Join us for a board games/card games session on 18 Dec (Sunday). We are making this a monthly event as we want to revive interest and excitement in playing real games with lots of socialising thrown in.

Come and meet new friends. Share with us your passion for games. This session is usually held on the last Sunday of the month but as the last Sunday is Christmas Day, we have brought the date forward.

Time: 3pm to 6pm

We are playing a number of games – Monopoly Deal, Jenga and Life. If you have a good game to share with us, please bring it along!

We will be sprucing and painting our Mensa Penang office this 11 December (Sun). As you can see from these Facebook photos, we’ve cleaned up the office so now it’s time to paint it.

Please volunteer! Come help out and get to know the rest of us (most of the Committee will be there anyway).

You don’t need to bring anything. As we will be painting the office, don’t wear your best clothes. An old t-shirt and shorts will do. We’ll provide all the tools and paint.
