For those who are coming, here's what Chen Chow will be sharing with everyone tomorrow:

3. Scholarships/Financial Aids from US
4. Applying to U.S. Universities
We have more than 120 people (parents and students) registered for this exciting talk. For those whom we've had to turn away, we will keep you posted when we do our follow-up talk next year (fingers crossed).

Re: Free talk - How to get a scholarship to study in USA
Hi everyone
We had a great time on Saturday with a truly packed hall. Many parents came with their teenagers to listen to Chen Chow.
People were still streaming in during the talk and many had to stand at the back of the hall because all the 120 seats were already full.
We started promptly at 2.30pm because Chen Chow had so much information and insider tips to cover! We went beyond our 4.30pm cut-off time too but many parents and teens stayed back to ask more questions!
We have had so many positive comments and feedback from the parents and teens who listened on that day.
Fidel, a mother who came on behalf of her son, was bowled over by the breadth and depth of Chen Chow's talk which covered absolutely everything and anything any student wanted to know about life as a student in the USA, the advantages of studying in the USA, how to apply for a US scholarship, what the US universities can offer, how to apply for a local scholarship, where to find these foundations and lots more!
She said in her email: "Hi Chen Chow, Just a note of thanks to you for a very informative afternoon. I think most of us left feeling that two and a half hour was not enough. It is a pity that my son couldn't make it on that day. I was serious when I asked you where and when you will be giving another talk on the similar topic. If it is going to be at the northern region , I don't mind driving all the way there. The trip is definitely worth it. Do let me know when and where is your next talk for northern region."
Another audience, Eric Fong, 17 said: "The talk was great and I think it has really benefited everyone including me who dreams of furthering my education in the States. Just keep up the good work."
Chen Chow also recommended a number of useful websites such as:
www.recom.org
www.tinkosong.com
He said these websites could provide even more information on studying abroad as many seniors/alumni were helpful on these forums.
One of the key things that should be mentioned here is that being a Mensa member is an added advantage for students applying for scholarships as any little advantage you have will put you higher than the rest.
Many students have signed up for a Mensa admission test once they heard about this extra advantage! In fact, if you are a Mensa member, you are a member for life and your pedigree as a Mensa is internationally recognised no matter where you go.
Chen Chow is a Mensa member, so are many of the brilliant people you have seen and heard of such as the late Chiang Ti Ming and the ASTRO scholar, Calvin Teng (who you see on the ads on ASTRO and who is incidentally from Penang and someone that Chen Chow personally knows).
We will consider doing a follow-up talk since it was such a success on Saturday.
If you are interested to be updated on the upcoming talk (should be in 2008), please send an email with your name, age and handphone number to info (at) mensapenang (dot) org.
Anyway, I will be posting some of the photos we took that day in a while!

Re: Free talk - How to get a scholarship to study in USA
Here are the photos as promised.
We had more than 120 registered participants at this talk! Talk about being serious about overseas education.
What a packed hall!
Many parents came with their teenagers, mostly those in Form 4 and Form 5.
We had people who even wanted to stand for the whole 2.5 hours of the talk!
They never got enough of Chen Chow. Many still approached him to ask more questions AFTER the talk concluded.
