Advanced Sudoku Workshop
We will be having a special advanced level Sudoku workshop conducted by Mohd Farhan – the Malaysian Sudoku Champion 2011.
Date: 18 June 2011 (Saturday)
Time: 2pm – 5pm
Venue: Caring Society Complex, Penang
Entry fee: RM10 per person (includes refreshment)
Without pre-bookings, walk-ins on the day itself – RM15.
Conducted by: Mohd Farhan (2011 Malaysian Sudoku Champion)
Organised by Mensa Penang Branch, this workshop consists of 3-4 advanced sudoku puzzles that participants can try to solve. Mohd Farhan will guide you step-by-step and explain how to solve tough Sudoku puzzles using a variety of techniques.

Durian Feast 19 June
We are having our annual durian feast this month so come and join us! Like last year, we are going into a durian farm to have our fill of the king of fruits.
This is open to Mensans, their family members and their friends.
We are only opening to 40 persons so it is really first come, first serve. You are encouraged to carpool as parking places are limited in the durian farm.

Meeting place: Tesco Extra car park lot, Jalan Sungai Dua, Penang
Time: 10.30 am
Charge/pax: Cost to be shared by all “eating” participants

We had 84 participants forming 42 teams for yesterday’s Puzzlers’ Challenge 2011 held at Caring Society Complex from 2pm to 7pm. They were secondary school students from schools around Penang.

Volunteers Needed for Puzzler’s Challenge 2011
We are looking for volunteers to help in the Puzzler’s Challenge 2011.
As we are expecting about 50 teams (mainly from schools), we will need at least 10 volunteers as referees to judge and and mark some of the challenges. Tea and snacks will be provided.

A briefing will be given at 12.30 pm on 24 April 2011 at the Mensa office at the Caring Society Complex.

The Puzzler’s Challenge 2011
The Puzzler’s Challenge 2011 is a challenge to test minds with a series of puzzles that has to be solved within stipulated times.
Organized by the Malaysian Mensa Society-Penang Branch and endorsed by the Penang State Education Department, the challenge seeks to expose the public, especially students, about Mensa organisation and its activities.
